Injuries
Injuries can bring any DIY job to a screeching halt. ADHDiY injuries are that much worse.
While my body is healing, preventing me from continuing my outdoor work, my mind is thinking about other "small" projects that can be accomplished. This is both good and bad. Good for planning ahead, bad for forgetting the current project.
I injured my back over Labor Day Weekend, and this has caused delays in furthering that project along. I am almost recovered, however I look around and see other things that need to be done, all small projects, taking less than 2 hours to complete. And while I have time to heal and to think, I don't have time to work. This is the personal hell for ADHDiY. I see things that need to be done, but can't.
Keeping things written down and in daily view, like on a dry-erase board on the refrigerator, helps keep the to-do list in the present. This prevents other projects from becoming the priority, and helps keep focus on the projects that need to be finished.
