Coffee grinder box
It's been a long time since I have updated this, and I wanted to share with you all a new project.
This was conceived after I received a new coffee grinder for Christmas. It's an excellent grinder, however it is very loud. I spend enough time in coffee houses that serve frozen blended beverages that have a lidded box for their blenders. I figured why not make one for my grinder?
Here is what I came up with.
It's walnut panels with ash tail and stiles. The door was made first with mortice and tenon. All cut by hand. The panel is 1/2" thick, with the ash being 1.5" x 3/4" thick. Inside is 12" high, and 8" x 8" deep. The top panel is also 1/2 walnut, with no bottom. I notched both bottom sides for the power cord to exit the bottom of the box.
It really cut down on the noise and allows the kids to sleep while I am grinding fresh coffee.
I still need to make the top trim, but my ogee iron is a bit too dull, and needs resharpening before I get to making the moulding.
